A full day of work and 3 hours of networking efforts at the Buffalo Niagara Partnership‘s “HobNob and CEO Auction” left the hours in my day a bit shy. Thank goodness I opened my new membership on Monday!
I made my Best Fitness debut last night at 930PM. It’s a bit daunting, but I haven’t despite all my hours spent in at Body Blocks over the last almost 2 years now… I was intimidated. Not because of the people necessarily. The people were quite interesting and for so late in the day it was pretty damn busy. It might have a little to do with the fact that I get spoiled at Body Blocks.
Yesterday was the first time in a long time I worked out without a Personal Trainer. I like being told what to do. They push me harder then I’d push myself. Plus, by time I get to the gym I really don’t want to think about what kind of workout I need to do. How many reps of this. What muscle groups do I focus on? Which exercises will target those areas best?
Am I capable? Yes. But I like my trainers. To top it off, I know everyone that walks through the door. There are very rarely more than 8 people on the training floor (including staff) at a time. Walking into this new facility was the complete opposite. I was a little overwhelmed. Had no idea where anything was and walked around like a chicken with its head cut off. But I’ll get over it.
Today on the other hand, I had plenty of time to make it back home to Body Blocks. Considering I’m heading out to the Arnold’s after my workout tomorrow morning we decided to hit a 2-day split. So we crushed my upper body! Overall great workout.
Now I just have to get ready for the next few days. On tonights agenda:
- Prepare my meals for the next two days and pack that cooler. I’m heading out of town but I have to stay strong, especially when I’m surrounding myself with hundreds of fitness fanatics!
- Finish my laundry
- Put together new bathroom shelving and clean my house. I know, irrelevant. I’m running the Buffalo Shamrock Run when I get back Saturday morning and hosting a good friend’s Bachelorette Party Saturday night. So these things need to get done.
- Find clothes to wear to this shindig! Yes, as a woman I need to focus on what I wear. I’ve never been to a fitness EXPO and I’m entirely unsure what I should wear. To top it off, I’ve been dropping sizes so rapidly I haven’t gone shopping. I don’t really have much that fits
- Pack. Well this is a no brainer…
