I put in a lot of work this week and definitely pushed my body to the limit. I ache almost everywhere and my flexibility is out the window at the moment. Both Terry Stokes & the trainers at Body Blocks have prescribed a day off.
A rigorous workout schedule and dramatic reduction in my Body Fat Percentage has definitely done a number on me. My hormones are completely out of whack. I am totally content with my life right now, yet for some reason I have to physically fight back the urge to burst into tears. I haven’t actually cried yet, but the urge comes suddenly and seemingly out of no where. It’s annoying. I’ve been told this means I’m getting close. Yay…it’s awesome looking forward to unwarranted moodiness!
Sleep. Oh boy would I like to know how it feels to get a good nights rest right now. On a typical night I can sleep for about 1 1/2 hours at a time and then be wide awake for a few hours. Other than being a pain, the lack of sleep is preventing me from properly recovering. I’ve invested in a natural sleep aid- melatonin. I took it for the first time on Friday and got a solid 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep for the first time in almost a month. Hopefully it will help me catch up and let my body get the rest it needs.
A day off came at the perfect time. I drove out to Youngstown, Ohio this weekend to visit a good friend of mine to celebrate her birthday. I left Buffalo early yesterday afternoon (after spending 2 hours at the gym) and spent the night celebrating with Amanda. Instead of packing my running sneakers and workout gear, I traded in for a day of shopping! I probably should have spent the day laying around, but that’s just not my style. Amanda and I perused the mall in Ohio and had a blast in the fitting room. I got a lot of cute stuff I can’t wait to wear! Yay for taking a break and catching up with a good friend!
What a great weekend!
