A little R&R never hurt anyone, right?

It has been a crazy couple of weeks. Between holiday travel, moving into my new abode, and the day-to-day I love so much, my training didn’t exactly get the attention it deserves.

Horrified that it would ruin my progress, I have been beating myself up mentally about my “rest” period. My take on this “rest” period was reducing my gym time to an hour per day and taking Sunday off to move furniture.

I know, not exactly a week off, but for me it was close enough.

I stuck tight to my diet, except Saturday night when I had guacamole with pretzel chips, some trail mix, and the unthinkable- cheese fries and a chocolate milkshake at the diner. That last one was a big mistake. It made sure I was aware of that fact as it came back up.

Low and behold maybe a little R&R was just what my body needed, because this week I definitely see a change, and I’m not the only one to notice.

It has been a while since I’ve given my body a break. I, and I don’t think I’m alone in this one, often forget that giving your body ample time to recover is often just as important as beating it up.
