How to Achieve Your Fitness Goals: Make Yourself a Priority

Whether your fitness goal is weight-loss, weight-gain, or performance based, you won’t reach it overnight.

Time and time again I hear “I don’t have time for the gym” or “I’m too busy”.  Excuses, excuses, excuses.  Time happens to be the most common excuse for why most people cannot achieve their fitness goals.

When it comes down to it, your health is one of the most important aspects of your life, so why put it on the back-burner?

The first step to making your goals a reality is to make yourself a priority.  Make an appointment with yourself and keep it.  These appointments should be just as important as your next trip to the dentist, the kids’ soccer games, or that 10AM meeting with the Senior Vice President.

Obviously the amount of time you spend in the gym, on the track, cycling, etc. depends on what you’re working toward.  For most of us, setting aside 20-60 minutes a day or a few times a week will do the trick.

Making yourself a priority will not only keep you moving forward, but it will give you a surprising physical, mental, and emotional boost.  Promise!
